Proposed Double Feature: "Bang! You're Dead!" and The War Game
Two early '60s b/w shorts (the AHP runs 26 minutes, The War Game is a brisk 15) devoted to the most harrowing subject imaginable: a child with a gun. Each is a masterpiece of grueling tension, the horror of our inability to intervene. Essential viewing, both, and you can crack 'em both out in no longer than it'd take to watch a Breaking Bad.

The Wind that Walks
People, people, people.
Let's all watch the strange, lovely, just-under-feature length film The Wind that Walks (1981).
It's produced by NJN, shot in the Pine Barrens, and is pretty much the great state of New Jersey's answer to the 1957 British horror film The Abominable Snowman, this time starring the one and only New Jersey Devil.
It's small and intimate and occasionally quite clunky, clearly the product of amateur actors and filmmakers. But man, it has a lovely edge. Some shots are really wonderful, the decaying calm sciency aura is powerful, and the storyline is touching and elegant.
This is one of those movies with no IMDb page and no caretaker, that seems destined to disappear. It's as inscrutable and endangered as the creature it presents us with. Watch this one while you can.
